It's been years

For a long time now I have avoided anything to do with softball. My friends have continually asked me to play on their slow pitch teams and I have been asked to coach a few softball teams including my old high school. For what ever reason I always say no. I think it's a commitment issue. You know all our lives we've been committed to softball practice, games, tournaments all year long and I've always been fully committed. It's like I feel like if I don't commit my self 100% then it's not worth it at all and therefore I don't want to even get involved because I know it's a full commitment. Does that make sense?
Not to mention it always makes me miss my teammates and the fun times we had together. Anyways I'm slowly getting to the point of this blog in just a moment.

I was recently asked to play for a women's baseball league for summer ball. It works out that I can't play this summer because my weekends are pretty packed, but I did play this Sunday as a sub and it was so much fun. It made me totally miss my Texas softball friends as I suspected it would, but it was a blast. Not to mention it was so much fun playing on a baseball field and playing baseball rules. I love leading off the way the guys do, but boy the extra 30 feet makes a different. It was so much fun being out there and warming up on the grass taking ground balls. At first I was really afraid I would suck ass and I wouldn't be able to field a ground ball, but after a few warm ups it was just like old times, like riding a bike. It felt so natural. Today however I am definitely feeling the soreness! ha

Anyway just wanted to post to all you softball ladies. I love you guys and thanks for making so many memories. Miss ya
