Can I just say how much I love Halloween. It is one of my favorite Holidays, along with Christmas and Thanksgiving. I just love how excited kids get about trick or treating and how fun it is to dress up. Although being a teacher on Halloween is difficult, because the kids are so wired with excitement and no academic learning can be done what-so-ever, it is still just so enjoyable to see how happy they are. At school the teachers dress up together by grade levels, so our kindergarten team decided to be pirates this year. Rrrrr!!! In my class I got a little crazy and decided to carve a pumpkin since we have been learning how pumpkins grow. Well needless to say some how I managed to get pumpkin guts sprayed across my classroom. It was quite entertaining actually. The kids had a blast finding the gunk and separating the seeds. We also had a Halloween parade and party, in which some how during the parade I managed to lose one of my students. Yikes!!! I know, and to top it off my principal was the one to return him to me. It was all good because one of the other kinder teachers lost one too, along with a 1st grade teacher. Let me just say, there is chaos during this parade. Lol
