So last week a bunch of our friends went out to dinner at my favorite Japanese restaurant in Palo Alto to celebrate my best friends 25th birthday. I have to admit that the food isn't the best, but the atmosphere is amazing. For those of you who have never been, it is a must. There is always music blazing and strobe lights blinking and lots of Sake Bombs to drink.
The sake bomb can be consumed in different ways. One way is sticking your sake shot on top of your chop sticks as shown above. The gang all shouts Ichi, Ni, San, SAKE BOMB and you bang the table. Once you bang the table the shot falls in the beer and you have to chug it. We usually like to stand on our chairs while the waiters yell "When I say sake you say bomb, Sake, Bomb, Sake Bomb. It's really quite wonderful actually.
Here is Ashley, my best friend since Kindergarten, she was the real reason for us getting together for a night of Sake bombs. We celebrated her 25th birthday! Woowhoo were getting old!

SAKE BOMBS!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I loved Miyakes!!! That was so so fun!
I was thinking of you Danni when we were there taking sake bombs. We can't wait for you, JD and the hubby's to visit so we can go there again. No worries though you don't have to drink to have fun. The atmosphere does it all!!! I'm surprised Val that you recognized my friend. She did play softball with me when I was at SJCC, she played 3rd. You have a good memory.
